The two closest to the hotel are:

- the Baerenbach farm inn (15 minutes by car, passable road to get there).

The Ballon d'Alsace
In winter , take advantage of this family ski resort on a human scale which will allow you to discover the joys of skiing on a small area. Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or sledding, everything is possible for beautiful snowy days. If you feel like a new experience, you can also enjoy a nice dog sled ride, but remember to book, this activity is in high demand!
In spring and summer , beautiful hikes are offered to you at the top and around and for thrill seekers, why not a paragliding jump?
You can also spend a great day at the Ballon d’Alsace Adventure Park: tree climbing course, motorized zip line, acro-bubble… activities for young and old that will delight you. You will also have the possibility of renting electric mountain bikes to enjoy the mountain landscapes by bike. Opening of the park on April 2, 2022 .

Canyoning in the Seebach

Throughout your hikes, you will find the typical products in each farm inn or farm , available for sale (barkass, bacon, blood sausages, fleischnacka, etc…). For example, we have chosen the heart of the massif, a cheese produced at the Holschlag farm, to offer it to you every morning on our breakfast buffet.
In Oberbruck, a small village located just next to Sewen, you will find the craft brewery Dioller , created in 2014. You have the possibility in summer to visit it, by reservation and to buy traditional beers, in individual format or in a gift box!

In Rimbach, a few kilometers further, Emmanuelle runs ” Emma’s Gingerbread House “, where you will find all kinds of biscuits, pastries and Alsatian delicacies that will make you crack! You will have the opportunity to taste one of its products in your hotel room since a gingerbread cookie awaits you as a welcome gift. Remember to call her before you go there, she will be happy to prepare your souvenir gift packages for your visit to Alsace.

In Sewen, Marie-Hélène created ” Vie en miel “, a young beekeeping operation. It specializes in the production of 6 honeys and the transformation of fruit from its orchards into jams sweetened with honey. For any request for tasting or purchase of its products, do not hesitate to contact it directly by telephone at 03.89.82.97.45.
From Sewen , if you want to start on foot from the hotel, you just have to go up to the center of the village, the start of the various marked trails. You can go:
at Lake Sewen (30 minutes walk)
to Lake Alfeld, via the waterfall trail (1 hour walk)
at the Ballon d’Alsace (a 3-hour walk)
at Hufels (a 45-minute walk), viewpoint above the village of Sewen.
In Ermensbach , located 5 minutes by car from Sewen, you will find one of the main car parks for hikers, the starting point for many circuits. You can walk to:
at Lake Neuweiher (about 1 hour 30 walk)
at Perch Lake
at Haute Bers (large meadow at altitude with a refuge)
at the Gressons farm.
All this being only a small part of all that the hiking trails in the region have in store for you! Come and discover them quickly by staying at the hotel and above all put your shoes on! We provide you with a hiking map for the whole valley and the Ballon d’Alsace at reception.
Entertainment and tourist visits in the surrounding area
Depending on your areas of interest and the time you have available, do not hesitate to inquire before your stay to take full advantage of the various activities offered in the region and the surrounding area.
In Masevaux (10 minutes by car), you will find the Grange Burcklé, a small performance hall where various concerts and plays are performed. Program from April to October.
Embark aboard the tourist train traveling by steam or railcar on the Cernay St André – Sentheim line, 12 km of track in the heart of the Alsatian countryside will take you back in time. Every Sunday from June to September , a few weekdays in July and August. Don’t forget to book your tickets!
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced golfer, if you like golf, this 18-hole course will not disappoint you. Located just 20 minutes from the hotel and open all year round , this magnificent site will allow you to enjoy green nature and enjoy a moment of calm to live alone or to share.
The Cité du Train, SNCF heritage museum, is open all year round .

The second permanent exhibition of the Cité du Train invites you to discover the history of the French railways from 1844 to the present day. Entitled “The Quays of History”, it completes the “Parcours Spectacle”, with its 64 collection railway equipment which retraces over 13,000 m² the history of the railways in France and their technological evolution, from the oldest locomotive from 1844 to the TGV Euroduplex from 2013.
The National Automobile Museum houses the finest automobile collection in the world, bringing together more than 450 exceptional cars. In 1957, the Schlumpf Brothers bought a former woolen mill where they installed their entire collection a few years later. Open all year
